4th of July at Fenway Park, Boston & bye to Kim Mance

Happy 4th everyone!

We spent the day hanging out at Fenway park before the start of the Red Sox vs. Orioles game yesterday. What a fantastic way to celebrate the birth of our nation; we met all-American sports fans at – I have to say it – the coolest ballpark ever, the Green Monster!

Sadly, we had to say goodbye to Kim Mance and family because they had QUITE the drive back to Chicago. We certainly enjoyed their short rendezvous with the Truckster. AND (sorry Kim, but…) I will never forget how HILARIOUS it was when we were driving around the ball park and Kim says “Why did that guy just take a picture of us?” She’d momentarily forgotten all about the absurd scene she was a part of while driving in the Wagon Queen Family Truckster. John and I couldn’t hide the laughter …priceless.

Lastly, I feel as though I’ve experienced something that everyone should see at least once in their lives. Not the Truckster, (though everyone SHOULD try to snag a picture with her at some point,) but the Boston fireworks display over the Charles River as the Boston Pops Symphany Orchestra illustrates the scene with music. The show was INCREDIBLE. I felt like a little girl that just couldn’t stop smiling due to the overwhelming state of awe I couldn’t not seem to shake-off.

Don’t believe me? SPOILER ALERT: There’s some sweet footage of the pyrotechnics in my video below!

Happy B-day America!

We are now in Portland, Maine and will be around for the next couple days. Keep your eyes out for the Truckster at any seafood restaurants because I’m craving clams!
